The entire day was spent cleaning, moving furniture to make room for the guests, preparing food, and putting up decorations. Becky and I woke up at 6:30 and we finished the last little bit at 5:45. Guests started arriving at 6. As you can probably guess, we were a little pressed for time. I didn't think we would get it done, but thankfully, with the help of a few friends, we did.

Surprise!!
She seemed pretty shocked, but that's what we were going for.
The shower was centered around children's storybooks. We pulled the food from a few books like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Elouise, and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Everything looked great! (thanks to the friends that helped put last minute things together!!)
After all was said and done, the party was wonderful. Everyone brought their favorite childhood book along with their gifts to help baby Townsend start his own little library. The books really helped add that personal touch that Lindsey really seemed to love.
We are so happy for Lindsey and Ben and can't wait to meet their little boy in August! Congrats to the Mom and Dad- to- be!

That is seriously the cutest idea for a baby shower! Kudos to you, Kara. Jared had family in town for graduation or I would have loved to be there. It will be so fun for Spencer to have a little boy cousin to play with!
