The 4th

Our 4th was a very eventful day! We started our day by going to Target. We weren't really looking for anything in particular, we just wanted to browse and kill some time. Now, this always happens to us when we go to Target. We go just to look and we end up leaving with something. This time we ended up leaving with this:

Jon has had his eyes on this grill since he first saw it right after his birthday in May. We had just moved so we didn't have the cash right then, but I promised we would save up and get it for him. As luck would have it, while we were browsing we happened to pass by the outdoor section and it was all on sale. (to make room for all of the back to school stuff. I can't believe it's already that time of year!) This grill was on sale for.....wait for it.....$40!! Crazy! The grill with the smoker was originally, like 200-250 bucks! Crazy!  Of course we walked out with it!

The sales associate laughed when he told Jon the price. He said, "If that guy could, he'd start grillin on the way home." 

Too true.

While we waited for Dad and Grandpa to take the grill home, Nana and I entertained the boys with some bubbles.

After they got back and we did the rest of our shopping, we all went home until the evening. We met up with some of our friends for fireworks on the beach. (So awesome, by the way!) When we first got there, Spencer wasn't too thrilled. The beach was full of people setting off their own mini firework shows and he wasn't a big fan of all the noise. Eventually we convinced him that everything was fine and that the fireworks, while loud, are really cool.

 Of course, my little daredevil William had absolutely no problem at all with the noise. I don't think he even noticed the fireworks until after he got in the water. (Fully clothed, I might add)

The next day, after lunch we went to a local park with a splash pad that Jon discovered earlier that week.
It. Was. Awesome.
The park was perfect. Which was so nice. I say that because since we've moved here I've found that several of the nearby parks are a little too old for my both of my boys. Spencer does fine pretty much everywhere we go, but William can get a little frustrated if he can't climb or do whatever Spencer is doing. This park did not have that problem. Everything was at the perfect height and the splash pad just added to the overall awesomeness. :)  It was really hot that day so once the boys got nice and warm playing on the slides, we went down the sidewalk to the water.

Eventually he let loose and started to play.

William noticed that Dad wasn't getting wet and decided that that was unacceptable.

Eventually all of the other kids left, and ours took off their clothes. I love how happy Spencer is to be (semi) naked :)
